Coldway Technologies, created in 2001 by two researchers from Promes Laboratory (CNRS), is a company “made in France” who brought to industrial life a major technological innovation in refrigeration : it made the storage of industrial refrigeration possible, and allowed control upon demand, without needing any exterior energy, anywhere, whatever the outside temperature or the degree of refrigeration required. This technology is based on a system called sorption which uses ammonia – a natural refrigerant – one of the alternatives authorised by the French Ministry of Ecology and Solidarity Transition within the parameters of a progressive replacement of all HFCs.
In November 2018, COLDWAY TECHNOLOGIES and SOFRIGAM combined their expertise and innovation programs, thus participating in a unique global offer to produce a range of solutions designed for cold chain applications. The different divisions of the SOFRIGAM GROUP (SOFRIGAM, La Boutique du Froid, Ater Métrologie and Coldway Technologies) have pooled their knowledge at each link of the chain – the production of the reactive material and refrigeration units in Pia (66), the experience of isothermal material in the manufacture and assembly of the containers in Monchy (62) and the validation of each completed product by Ater Métrologie thermal trial centre.
